@squirell1952 You're absolutely right. The bed wetting, left wing wimps demand that a person actually has a speech impediment if they're to present, these days. Even local independent stations always have people with lisps presenting the news & weather. They choose the worst & most inappropriate person for the job.

PART 2: Sue L:awley, Angela Rippon and anybodyelse who could speak CLEARLY and properly were chased out by BBC AND REPLACED by the likes of Jonathan Ross and other peopleof his calibre, dirty jokes and so on. These people cannot even enunciate simple words of two or t hree syllables. Just check our Angela Rippon on YOU TUBE if you don't believe me about their clarity. You would want them back at the Beeb. Write to Radio Times!!

I REMEMBER this series when it first started. It used to be shown on ITV, t he type of channel only the great unwashed would watch. bbc, on the other hand, was aimed at people who could read and write. then, about 1990, the beeb dumbed itself down by emulating i.t.v. Today bbc is as low-class as i.t.v. and the great unwashed still won't look at it. they still think bbc is for the upper classes!!
THERE IS NOT MUCH difference between the two stations. even bbc2 dumbed
itself down.
