It didn't seem like Oasis was in it for the music. They liked the fame, and the fans, and the attention. You could tell just from their music, Blur wasn't infatuated with trying to sound cool or impressing anyone. They wrote songs and formed the band because that's just what they loved to do. But I thoroughly enjoy both band's music. (ehh, I'm probably just biased because Damon's the frontman) XD

I find it strange that the Blur/Oasis thing is still going. Blur proved themselves to be consistently good and readily reinvented themselves and their music when necessary. Every single they released will endure because they combined a knowledge of pop craftmanship with the pursuit of innovation. Oasis were mostly fad and overhyped PR. They made 2, admittedly great albums and then slowly faded into caricature leaving a somewhat patchy legacy. Blurs lineage, on the other hand is flawless

I prefer Oasis, but Country House was a better song than Roll With It I reckon.

actually, i do think roll with it was a better single. country house was far too campy. but i do believe blur were a far better band than oasis.
