  • This is a phenomena known as "tonic immobility". It is kind of like putting a dog into a trance by rubbing it's belly. Kind of.

GW's like to ambush prey. Theoretically, if a GW knows you have seen it, you have a better chance of avoiding attack. But sharks are curious animals, sometimes likened to cats for their inquisitive nature. Unfortunately, a small taste from such a big animal can be fatal.

This shouldn't be called an attack. Cool Video tho.

  • I liked the part where he got attacked

  • NINJA!!

  • In no way shape or form is that an attack. The title of the film is completely misleading and unfair to the animal. Add a ?

  • Why didn't he punch the shark out when he had the chance? He coulda given him the ol' bicycle on the gut, and then one, two in the jaw, and he's DOWN! Bloody scuba divers. No wonder they get nommed.

  • This is no scuba diver ....

  • Lucky or what?

  • ummmm tell me why i would have tried to bite that shark right back and let him know how it feels xD

  • in your profession, it just might be a good idea to keep count of how many of your "9 lives" your using up, as you go along"

  • His Name is Micheal Rutzen, and runs one of the leading shark divng operations in Gaans Bay , South Africa. Its an amazing experience, and if you ever do it, he is the man to do it with. There is loads of footage of him on utube. Have a look at some of the other ballsy stuff he does. He is not fool, but a man whose passion is the great white. He researches and studies them, so knows when to interact and how to interact with them.

  • @fonkyjunkie Its Mike Rutzen.
