A short film by Farhat Hussain, Cambridge educated historian and archaeologist from England. In this short film Farhat Hussain speaks of the year 1492 when the last Muslim state of Spain, known as the Nasrid state of Granada, fell to Castile and Aragon. 1492 also saw the approval in Granada, Spain, of the request by Christopher Columbus to King Ferdinand and Queen Isabelle of Spain to undertake his voyage across the Atlantic - which resulted in the arrival of Columbus in the Americas as made mention of by Farhat in this film. This film includes to the end a short clip presented by Farhat Hussain at the Alcala Real castle, located some c. 25 km north of Granada and known in the Muslim/Moorish era as Qala Banu Sa'id. Qala Banu Sa'id was captured by Castile in the 13th century and formed the frontier with the Nasrid state of Granada to the late 1400's. Facing the Alcala Real castle on the Muslim side of the frontier with Castile was the Moclin castle which is the site from whence Farhat Hussain speaks in another film which is hosted on Youtube and will be the subject of a book by Farhat Hussain later in 2009.
