my friends and i did that once...they stopped by an asian store somewhere in slc and bought all this stuff...(couldnt read it had NO idea) and well tasted weird crap...it wasnt untill we got to this ball covered in some kind of chili powder...(made most of us throw up orange ...it was wrong!!!) brave of you to try!

I think it's called "boat tart" because it's shaped like a boat, and it has filling in the middle. They have different types of filling. Maybe the ones you tried was a cashew nut filling?
