they hold it the "wired" way you show because this is the correct way colt ment this gun to be hold in your hands. this gun is ment to be fired from the hips. self defence distance 3 yards.

Your critque of the cylinder being too wide is subjective. Mine conceals perfectly under my belt unholstered with my shirt worn untucked. Doesn't print at all. As far as the draw, you should continuously practice drawing your primary carry piece. I only have one, some have several. As for the sights, chances are, 6-7 yards out will be the maximum distance in 99% of all defensive actions, so the sights are just fine. Closer than that, and the police will probobly take you down to the station!

I only own the GLOCK 23 now but will expand. I personally don't like J frames (as S&W calls them) because my hands don't feel right.
