You're looking this specifically trough the wrong eyes. When wolverine went to japan, he went trough samurai training, that's why he used a sword, because in samurai culture, the sword is sacred, and considered to be a part of the samurai, it's a cultural, not a practical thing. And as for this version here, i completely agree with you, this isn't wolverine, won't ever be. Total and complete garbage!

Eh, I'm not gonna fly off the handle just from a single 2 minute trailer. I agree that it doesn't "look" like the normal Wolverine, but people are obviously failing to see that this is an adaptation of it. A "reimagining" of the typical Wolverine. Personally, I like this version. The hardcore Wolverine has been done in excess for decades, so I see nothing wrong with them trying something new for a change.

I don't think we should judge that harshly. This is their version of Wolverine..no one said it was the original just because it has the marvel tagline. It looks alright to me. Its no different from Marvel asking a fan to do a reimagining of wolverine or put your own spin on it for a new generation or a new show. The original wolverine is a pretty rough guy..hes not your parents superhero so if this is a kids show then they made the right choice.
