  • EFIX is just a ripoff of the Boot132 method. You can put Boot132 on a thumbdrive very easily. And just like EFIX, for it to work, your hardware needs to be VERY close to a REAL Mac, no AMD wanna-be's, no P4's, no non Intel chipsets..

  • Efix is works from scratch and you dont need to load any kext! Also you dont have to worry about why dont have sound or LAN etc effect....

It just works!!! Apple has it own motherboard sure not asus, msi or gigabyte!

  • It "just works" because it's already got the Kext's loaded within it. That's why it only works on a handful of motherboards. Boot132 is the same way if you download a customized version for your particular motherboard. And it's FREE. EFIX costs more than the OS! How insane is that??? Ripoff someone else's open source project, and then charge more than even the operating system it's fooling. There's a sucker born every minute, you'll be kickin yourself for years to come when you realize it's you.

  • I agree! I just sold this system and I will try boot 132 on my next system! But I dont want to spend hours why things not working right....

  • idea and outlook of efix is awesome. been thinking of making such kinda thing myself for a long time, but it is not possible to immitate whole bunch of programmers work who writes official drivers for os x for the hardware which further will be properly tested and included on the mac to work natively smooth and fast as bsd itself

  • EFIX has it own CPU, maybe for encryption who knows!?

Its way better becasue it is not a hackintosh... :)

  • Ok, if my research is correct, the EFIX USB dongle isn't actually a USB disk device, it has some hardware that "tricks" OSX into thinking certain non-Apple motherboards are actually Apple hardware to run OSX. So copying whatever files that are on the EFIX USB device to a generic USB disk will not work. If this is so, I can see why this EFIX solution is way better than any existing Hackintosh method.

  • No! It will not!

  • I meant copying all the files from the EFIX USB Dongle onto an empty USB drive and seeing if it still works. If so, we could all replicate EFIX results.

  • What files?? lol
