Today should be a great day for striper fishing. Chartered half-day fishing between the Rockaway jetties and Coney Island thinking it would be four hours of total fishing; not four hours including heading out and back for about 40 minutes of boat ride. Anyway, James wanted to go fishing since he has not fished for a few years. He invited a couple of friends to go fishing.
James was the first one on the boat to land a fish - a bluefish. He mentioned he had a bite earlier, but I kind of thinking to myself - "yeah, right". This bluefish did not hesitate to slam on the 6" Fishbelly Kick-S Shad.
As the early day progresses, we saw diving birds and splashes on the surface. However, those splashes were from bluefish chasing after baitfish. We could not get below the bluefish to reach to the striped bass below. All in all, the bluefish we caught are worth $100 each.
