The Board of Island Managers presents the 1st Annual Spring Cleanup of Burlington Island, located on the Delaware River in Burlington, NJ. The Board of Island Managers is America's oldest educational board in continuous operation, since 1682.
The island has a long and proud history. The Mantas Tribe of the Lenni Lenape knew the island as "Matinicunk". The Walloons from Belgium built the first recorded European settlement in New Jersey here in 1624, establishing a trading post on the island.
The cleanup was held on April 18th and 19th, 2009. The video depicts the activities on the first day. Visit The Board of Island Managers at www.burlingtonisland.com.
A MageeMedia Presentation, in association with ATC Associates Inc.
