The fourth segment of this programme, in which we return to Paul, Amanda and their six children, and hear more from Ryan and his mother. My apologies for the video being slightly over the time limit requirements, but I dare anyone not to be touched by nine-year-old Jenny's emotional response in the last few seconds of this clip.

Why are both parents behaving as if they're completely emotionally stunted and mentally retarded? Blindness does not cause low IQ, they appear to be feigning ignorance over what they're doing to their children.

I've never seen parents this self-centered and uncaring. Goddamn.

Child protective services should take all the kids, none of them are living worthy lives. Then the mom can pretend to be daft and the dad can smoke and enjoy his beer all he wants.

I think some people are being extreamly disrepectful to the blind. However, i agree this is not a life for these children. They should recieve all the help they are offered. My respects to the family, and families similar.

He's independent? My arse ...he's in shackles. Emotionally abused. He's so sweet, he deserves a medal ...and his freedom. She shouldn't be taking overdoses and putting him through that hell because of her selfishness, she should be getting pain medication control and a CARER.

Those two disabled fuckwits anger me so much. I feel like crying when I watch this.

They've been born into slavery. I want this best for Jenny. I wish I could do something to help all of those kids.

But I understood from the end part of this programme (video 6) that the family got some more help from the social services after the film was made.

You cannot sterilize a person against his /her own will, that would be fascism. In Finland where I come from it is possible to take away parental rights if a parent is unable to look after the children, or children can be placed in a foster home temporarily, for a longer period, or just for a few days each month.

I think the family in this video is a kind of borderline case. Perhaps the father could have some therapy to make him understand the situation more clearly.

Hay its the blind dude again. The end part of this one touched me. I hope to have kids one day, but I never want to put them through a life like that. The day I hear me child say they wish I wasn't blind is the day I give them up.
