Zombie Snails

This is a zombie snail! First I draw it and then I animate. It took a little less than 4 hours in all, and I'm very happy of the result.

The art is originally for a gallery of sorts at bogleech.com
It is a cartoony representation of Leucochloridium Paradoxum, a parasite that change a snail's behavior and turn its eyestalks into something that looks like fat larvae to attract birds. I had read about this before in a Bernard Werber book and recently came across this page ( http://www.bogleech.com/bio-para.html ) that was requesting "fan art" of the phenomenon, and this is my entry!


The music is "Interstice of the Dimension" from one of my favorite independent games, La Mulana.

@Redcode111 In graphicsgale, in the palette window, there is a selector for the brush shape. Theres a bunch of different brush sizes on it. The selector looks like a large black square with a tiny white dot in the middle.

@selleka This is from La Mulana, a notoriously difficult independant exploration platformer game with a really amazing soundtrack (this is a boss battle song, every boss has its own unique song, how awesome is that), its my personnal favorite game ever. You can get it for free on the web (along with an english translation patch) and a new, awesome remade version is coming out on wiiware later this year.

The program used to create this is GraphicsGale, which is a shareware program. probably a pirated version floating around somewhere.

@TheWoodenChainsaw ? are you trying to make a game? theres a few engines that dont require programming. art well thats practice. and if you pick up a programming language do C++ big but built for speed, and you need that for games.
