Radio Impuls 87.6 mhz from Brno in the Czech Republic received via meteor scatter in Northern Ireland during the lead up to the peak of the Perseids meteor shower, 10 August 07, 2025 UTC. Distance 1747 KM / 1086 miles. Transmitter is 67 kilowatts from a 340 metre / 1115 feet tower near Brno.
Meteors enter the atmosphere and as they burn up leave an ionised trail which can momentarily reflect signals. This particular meteor "ping" was substantial enough to allow the station RDS information to form.
Very nice.
