I had the great pleasure to travel to Newcastle in '97 to see Lindisfarne and travel to a couple of shows with them. A finer bunch of blokes I've never met. This is a great song and yes, if you are "of a certain age," it really hits home. Thank you Billy.

I just LOVE Lindisfarne. Why have I never seen the band in Newcastle?

As a Hull'ist & 'farnie, I still love this. Saw them 5 times in the 70's / 80's and Alan is up there as one of my music heroes.
As a man of a certain age, this is almost anthemic........

Nothing gives me more pleasure than to see people getting pleasure from giving pleasure to others. Great stuff. (Too many 'pleasures' in that comment but I don't care!)

Mike, the likes of us had to run a hard race - but bloody hell, it was worth it.

Cheers for the post marra.

Wythenshawe Forum. I was just blown away. Afterwards, they had a pint with the audience. No divas. My twins aged 14 love this song. All about faith in yourself.

Dear Billy, still thinking about the wonderfull time I had with your family New Years Day 2000...it is still the best NewYear I ever had !! Hope to see you all again soon...Give my regards to your family, big hug Jessica xx (the little one from Holland :-) - with Rick at the time...)

This is the anthem for those who've made it to the end of the rat-race :-)
Love it.
OH I really miss Lindisfarne! One of the most memorable shows I have ever seen was Lindisfarne in Oslo, while Alan Hull was still alive. I'll never forget that evening.

Aww I remember this song from the gig they did in Berwick November 2000 and yes, they went into the audience afterwards and we all kept buying them drinks. I got two of their CDs and got them all to sign both so had to keep running up and down the steps to find them all to sign it. I was 8. :D LOVE them.
