  • Hey Shawn, I used to train with Leadbetter in Florida. I just wanted your opinion on variations between your methods. So Leadbetter emphasizes heavily the restriction of hips vs torso. I have always hated this because I feel it makes me try to go for it from the top. What Leadbetter calls the "core" is his power source, not so much momentum as you say. Also, on the same note, you seem to bounce, I understand why to gain momentum, but why do most teachers preach keeping the head level?

  • @benz2134 Thank you for the comment and excellent observations! The answer is simple: It is called FEAR!

    Fear of missing! The human body is so amazing and already hard wired for success in golf; make sure you see "ridiculously easy; shawn clement" part 1 and 2 as well as a fun one called "fred Astaire Golf Dance" which is an amazing version of one of my more popular drills called "perpetual motion drill; shawn clement" All the best! Shawn

  • Wow, Wow, Wow. You can't believe what this video did for my swing. The problem I had was that I am a heavy guy and my arms were hanging a little to the side of my stomach and not taut. But once I let my arms hang directly in front of me I had a swing depth/length that I duplicated time and again and a distance tothe ball that was easily determined.

  • Great comment!

    Nice to feel and be aware of the differences from within!

    See also "golf pro lesson distance to ball part 2" as well as "golf pro lesson the insanity of golf"; they are great refreshers on focus!

  • Hi Shawn, When you say that your elbows are together, what do you mean exactly? Do the insides face eachother or do the elbows' bones face eachother. It might be helpful to see address from the "face on" angle with you wearing a short sleeve shirt. Great vid though. Very important tip, especially with the longer clubs.

  • Hey Dan!

    Have a look at the following vids:

    "golf pro lesson training aids" I think it is in Part 1 where I show you how to use that blue sling that keeps the elbows close together; then also see "Golf Pro Lesson arms in front of body" and "golf pro lesson elbow close?" videos;

  • Shawn, quick question. Is the stance (bent over amount, etc) the same for all clubs and just the arms move a little farther from the body or are you more bent over as you get into the smaller clubs?

  • 3:11 thats money shot for me. I almost always stand too close to my ball whether I m hitting a wedge or driver. thanks for putting this up.

  • gr8 tip

  • Thank you
