This week's Winecast features Kristi Payne, who owns and operates Vintage Vine, a 3-year-old wine shop in Roslyn, Wash.
Amy Mumma and her wine education program at Central Washington University in nearby Ellensburg provided inspiration for Payne, who has been drinking Northwest wines for more than 30 years. She's now a judge at the Washington State Wine Competition, and the focus of Vintage Vine is Washington wine.
This weekend, Roslyn - where the TV series "Northern Exposure" was filmed - also celebrates the opening of its first winery. Swiftwater Cellars and winemaker Tony Rynders cut the ribbon at their amazing multi-purpose facility overlooking the Rope Rider golf course within the Suncadia Resort.
Will be visiting here this summer. Can't wait.
