Current ranking third at World and this is their FD? I am so disappointed. Maria & Igor have so many senior teams now, they are running out of ideas for interesting choreography :(

@muscleboi4use And I have to disagree with you about the requirements that supposely the ISU have made. The Latin rythms are just the theme for the short dance, and the uplifting feeling rule was made for last year´s free dances. That doesn´t mean that this years programs have to be depressing, but from the Shibutanis I expect more styles and a more mature and flowing skating. I hope I´ve been clear now, although we can still disagree

@muscleboi4use My problem is not with the concept (although I would like to see someting new from them. This is closest they could be from their last free dance) but with the way they skate it. Where is the edgework?? They hide it all under all those quick modements and short steps that don´t even care about the side of the blade. Everything is ungainly. There is no refined movements (messy legs with no extension in most of the parts)

@hae714 I have to recognise that their Cinema Paradiso routine is not only the best from them but also one of the best you could expect from a junior team, as they were back in 2008 when they skated it. This concept has been soo used that you would expect something more original for an experienced team as they are suposed to be. Their highlight is a couple of very difficult movements but they don´t even seem to be in a reasonable order.

I like the music choice very much! Don't think that it is juniorish at all.

@figskafan Normally I respect your posts but why is the program "complete nonsense"? ISU rule changes state FDs must incorporate ballroom and/or latin elements - hence the melodramatic performances of the past 15 years may be a thing of the past. Their skating technique cannot be faulted much really. And what would you want them to skate to anyway?

I like it a lot! Good performance for early in the year. They keep getting better and improving!

Not too original music or concept, and i don't think this is their syle, but the technical elements are super!
