I think the Supremes looked good as a trio. From a graphic point of view. 4 would have looked awkward. I think 3 added to the mystique and made them more noticeable...like a triangle.

Mary has such an easy-going and casual way with people that is quite endearing. She really adds that approachable humanity to the Supremes...like the nice girl next door.
