  • Well its been a year since my post....

    I now have a Dell NF500 NAS Rack Server in place (1.3TB) and two DFS Root Servers so I can seamlessly expand my storage in future, or completely move data to another server and user's won't know a thing as DFS will just point to the new share.

    Did this before, very successful.

    standard PC, good processor, nice amount of ram can start you out , with non home windows version, but you only can connect 10 people to the domain. or get mac server, windows server, any linux.

  • if you got this would you be able to make a game SERVER with it?

  • Check OpenFiler. You can transform your old computer into a SAN very easy.

  • It's about £1300 if your wondering.

  • I like the extranet feature!
