Here is a semi detailed video of a 50" Philips plasma tv repair model 50PF9731D/37. This was my first TV repair and i thought it would be helpful to show how easy it can be. I replaced 2 3300uf 10v 105c capacitors. From what i've read this is one of the most common repairs for LCD and Plasma due to power surge. Total cost of repair was about $10 in parts. Please feel free to ask any question in the comments section. Sorry about the audio in some spots, but i promise you didnt miss anything. Thanks!

  • Thanks for posting the video. No search on YouTube for how to use your video recorder...

  • Your video is bad it keeps breaking your conversation hard to understand what you are saying

  • I got the same tv and same problem. Which capacitor I have to get

  • Great video, I repair computers too and had someone ask if i could look at their TV. So after doing some research came across your video and it just verfied what i thought could be wrong with it. Next is for me to attempt the fix :D Lets hope it is that easy for me.

  • my friend gave me a 46 inch plasma i think. its phillips, and when you plug it in the green light goes on indicating that we have power, but then a red light blinks 7 times. and so i opened it up and i noticed the capacitors were bulging like in your video. and so if i replace them would that be the only problem? and my friends said the tv was working like 3 weeks ago.

  • glad i came across this video. my tv wasnt turning on anymore and it had the same issues like this. i took saw ur video and did the same to mine. It WORKS now thanks to you. My Tv is back on and working as New again. GREAT VIDEO

  • Great video, but I think the audio cuts out on your camera when you use the zoom function.
