This is a video showing the bad insulation on the wiring of my Robosapien robot. The insulation is of such bad quality that touching it causes the coating to fall off. I contacted WowWee, but all they wanted to know is if I had a receipt. This robot is a serious fire hazard and should be removed from your home. If you have a receipt, mine was a gift, you may be able to get a refund or a replacement from WowWee. I discovered the problem when I installed new batteries. The new batteries got very hot indicating a short, so I disassembled the robot and discovered the bar wiring.

  • will all these robots do that?

  • These toy robots are constructed of the least expensive materials possible, so I suspect that they are all fire hazards. My main point is that the company does not support its products so if something goes wrong you are left with an expensive piece of potentially dangerous junk.

  • @wittsend86 HAHAHA LOL. I just hope they sort out the problem

  • @TITANSMRS it was made in china so the wiring probably already is 'ricefied' hahaha. -just a joke there settle down.

  • My RSV2 did this also, on the leg looms only, and my RS1 had a similar problem with the leg motor wires also. I guess the insulation dries out and crumbles with the movement. All fixed now though :)

  • I had the exact same problem; the insulation is like confetti and just flaking and falling off the robot and causing shorts and smoke - someone will have a fire in their home and god help Wow wee - as they have been told about this for years - directly and on boards and have done nothing to address it.

  • I have a first generation Robosasapian, used it for years. If i recall i won it in 2006 or 2007 when it first came out. Still works fine though it hasn't been used since my forth of July Video when i strapped some fireworks to the back and made a nice light show. Due to proper protection the robot and the circuits inside were not damaged the slightest. I've kept the batterys in there for many years and i think they are dead at this point.

  • @MrSpider525 I would recommend you to.

  • That's what happens when stuff like this is Made in China.

  • I agree the wiring in this robot which is supposed to be a toy is ridiculas. It is so unsafe I sincerely hope this was ricified in the silver version of the robot and in the Robosapien Media

  • I repair my robosapien buy on eBay. I replace the wires. Dont have choice., Do the same tings!!!
