Glennimmortal - You MUST still have a very small shot of diesel from the injector to "get the fire started". Once the fire starts, it will burn the gas vapors. I know some people in the US that have free natural gas from a gas well on their property, and they have reported that a Diesel will run at full power when the proper amount of natural gas is introduced into the induction air and only burn 10% diesel. But, you must have some diesel injected to get the fire started.

@Rhinoch8 - Correct, you could use WVO. A diesel engine must have some liquid fuel injected by the pump and injector to get "the fire started". It will then burn whatever fuel is in the combustion chamber.

@LincTexPilot Okay thanks. But you can run WVO 10-20% instead of Diesel right? You could even heat the WVO running it, not in the heat exchanger cooling system, but on the gasifier core!

@Rhinoch8 - wrong, if you use 100% natural gas or wood gas, you MUST use a spark plug. If you run 90% woodgas, and 10% diesel the engine will not (might not) need to be modified. The woodgas or natural gas can be introduced into the intake air. it is just like "propane Injection" on diesel trucks. Search that.

@LincTexPilot So basically you wouldn't need to put ANY sparkplugs system to run on 100% woodgas?
