  • It is WHITE EARTHEN CLAY, LOW FIRE, NO GROG MANUFACTURED BY HIGHWATER. YOU CAN PURCHASE THE CLAY FROM ANY CERAMIC SUPPLY HOUSE. :)

  • ****PLEASE NOTE: I get many emails and comments regarding the type of clay used. *** It is WHITE EARTHEN CLAY, LOW FIRE, NO GROG MANUFACTURED BY HIGHWATER. YOU CAN PURCHASE THE CLAY FROM ANY CERAMIC SUPPLY HOUSE. :)

I thank everyone for the wonderful comments about the video, and it is increasingly difficult to allocate time for response. Again ... thanks for your views and comments! ~Peace & Love

  • Do you hollow out these sculptures if you were to fire them in the kiln or do you just leave them as thick as they are? Do you use low fire clay or high fire clay?

  • mrjoaquin: If the client wants the bust in fired clay, then yes I hollow out the bust to a wall thickness of 3/8-1/2". I use a low fire clay with no grog.

  • Congratulations on your ability to create the bust,

complimenti per l'abilità nel creare il busto.

  • If you're an amateur, you might be jumping in a little deep to start with a life-sized figure - because of the issues associated with creating a work that is then molded and cast. In short, if you know nothing of this process, visit a foundry and observe the process of mold making and casting ... start at the end and work your way to the beginning. I don't suggest attempting this until you understand the entire process ... a process that involves technical know-how and skilled craftsmanship.
