This is my personal tribute to the man who brought to life the iconic character of Superman, in an unforgettable way.

Finally I was able to complete the video with additional animated sequences.

All the models, animation, effects, compositing and editing, were made by myself at home, on my not so powerful laptop. I modeled him using photographs that I found on the net as reference. No motion capture has been used, just fully manual key-frame animation.
I made this as a personal project while working, in my spare time at home, spending weekends and nights to finish it. I used 3DS MAX, ZBrush, Photoshop, After Effects and Premiere.

  • I like what you did here, could you give me some tips for zbrush, I am new to it, done mostly lightwave.

  • @frosted1030 Thanks, did you take a look at zbrushcentral site?

There you can find many useful info on ZBrush, cheers :)

  • @airun71 Yep, but I am foggy on how you use a photo to make a model.

  • @frosted1030 You can use many different techniques to make a model. I made this starting from polygon mesh in 3DS MAX, then refined in ZBrush. You can find many tutorials on the net about making models using photos as reference. Good luck!

  • Absolutely amazing! The likeness is perfect. This tribute is so beautiful, I teared up. It's truly inspiring, that's for sure. Keep up the good work, Francesco!

  • @emperorofmoldavia1 Thank you very much, I try to do the best I can.
