Answer provided by TurboTax. I buy a lot of music and I'm wondering if I can claim it as a tax deduction if it's educational and helps with my craft." The answer is that if you own a business that requires you to buy music, you can use it as a business deduction. If it is a work related educational expense, you can also claim that as an itemized deduction.
