  • What sort of strings do you use?

    thanks lots

  • @smackkk I use LaBella Strings, Deeptalking 760RS rounds and 760FL flats.

  • Thanks for the extensive demonstration!

I am thinking of getting a 1024X, but I can not find information on the neck profile anywhere.

Is it slim tapered or C-shape? I hope it's not on the chunky side.

  • @makke1977 the neck profile is more or less like a P bass, the nut is between a P and a J.

  • @jinrikisha Fair enough. And great playing!

  • I have a BB414 in rasberry red. I bought it because it just totally blew me away when i played it that day in the shop. I played a fender highway one jazz, and a ibanez soundgear model aswell, but the yamaha just couldn't be beat for the price. I mean for a passive bass its just got so much low end, and its also very hi fi sounding. It's got a great modern dancy funkyness to it aswell. Build quality is great. My only complaint is that it's a little heavy. Such a great bass, very versatile too!

  • @greyhall1 I understand your point. But when I have to do a long demo playing alone I use some effects to add some spice. When I explain the bass I always use a natural sound. What you see in this video is cut and paste from a demo in a music shop.

  • @jinrikisha But the point is you're doing a demo of the bass - not the effects! Effects change the sound of an instruments so much that it really isn't about the instrument when you use them..

  • @makke1977 its not a very thin neck but very confortable, not as thick as an Attitude.

  • @greyhall1 There is plenty of natural sound in the video, I use some effects too since its common to use them and maybe someone is interested in hearing also a processed sounds...

  • I think the demo should've been done with NO effects. The point is we want to hear the natural tone of the instrument!
