Neil Young Needle and the Damage Done Lesson Guitar Tutorial

This is for anyone who wants to learn the fret fingering for Neil Young's great song: The Needle and the Damage Done. It does not show the picking (which is fairly straightforward). I use a single plectrum in this example.

Not perfect, of course - and I'm playing too fast. The slow version at the end is probably closer to the correct speed.

For the guitar enthusiasts amongst you, I'm playing a Japanese Flambeau LFW-1 (830371) which I bought in 1983 if I remember rightly.

I just love the sound this guitar makes.

I recently wired the Flambeau up with a Fishman Rare Earth Blend soundhole pickup and to be honest, the sound is just fantastic - everyone who hears it is well impressed.

For this little movie though, the Flambeau's completely unplugged - I just put the video mic close to the soundhole and away I went!
