These are a few video highlights of the Salt Lake City Anti-War Rally held on October 27 2007. It was one city participating in a nationwide series of anti-war rallies, and drew a little over 1,000 people that day. Not bad for the most conservative state in the nation.

  • True, vmariepiet. But clearly "practicality" wasn't on their minds, and "intimmidation" was.

  • Uh huh. So tell me, do the local cops investigate and round up all the idiots who shoot holes in stop signs (like you see all over rural America)? Do they investigate and prosecute them like they do these kids?

I'll save you the thinking. The answer is NO they don't.

  • they say the war will go on for 10 more years.

i guess thats where im headed when im 18

  • yeah dude but thats rural not downtown SLC where everyone can see it. if you idiots want to protest in my city don't damage it the local government is already destroying my town I don't need you dickheads doing it too. and don't use the troops as an excuse to stop the war we know you don't care about us and you'll stab us in the back to prove the war is wrong. screw you you've never been there.

  • Oops, wrong video. I see the connection.

  • What do any of the above comments have to do with the video I just watched?

  • if the city officials would have used a little practicality and spraypainted over the "war" then the damage would have been about $3

  • Just a little info on the teenagers

They are all charged with felony malicious injury to private property.

    "Felony" Not "Federal" charges

In all 155 signs have the word "war" spray painted on them. The city estimates damage at $8,500.

If they would have taped something below the signs with the word "war" on it then they may not have been charged at a all. $8500 property damage is usually a felony no matter who you are. Charges might be reduced or dropped if they paid for the damage.
