@renzy79 Jump combinations in the short programs during the 80's had to include either a double loop or a double toe-loop as part of the combination (a toe-loop in odd-numbered years, and a loop in even-numbered years), therefore the 2loop-3loop and 2toe-3toe combinations in this video.

選曲のセンスが素晴らしい。
本当に伊藤みどりのファンなのですね!

Imagine the GOE on her jumps now. It would be like 16 billion. Thats how flawless they are
-
did she ever fall?

She also did 2luz-3toe in the '92 Olympics. An unintentional one but still impressive.
-
How easily she jumps! Legend!

@2:31 Does anyone know why she switched her 3F entrance toward the end of her career? She had such a strong flip throughout her career, and I felt as though this new entry made her slow down a bit, causing her 3F to lose the usual flow... Perhaps it improved her consistency?

@sleepyjl77 She WAS doing 4Ts in practice. But, of course, she broke her ankle in 1985 and women didn't need quads back then (well, even today--25 years later), so Yamada made her stop trying quads. Also, her leg wrap greatly improved around 1983.

伊藤みどりの2Lo-3Loは神の領域!

The best female jumper EVER!!!
One of the greatest jumpers in the history of the sport. Fast, fearless, high, etc. I wonder when we'll ever see a talent just like Midori's again. She really did revolutionize the sport during her era, and she was WAY ahead of her time in technical ability! Imagine what would have been had figures been eliminated earlier from ISU events.
