Australia's Seven News travelled to Barangay Didipio Kasibu, Nueva Vizcaya Philippines to investigate the alleged acts of community destruction by an Australian mining company, OceanaGold Philippines Inc.

Report by Australia's Seven News Michael Duffy.

Help save the village of Didipio. Please this pass on. We hope this gets the attention of the public especially the Australian government, OceanaGold investors and the Philippine government.

  • Darren Klinck - Newtons Law. Look @ the floods in you country Australia. Leave mother nature. The hell with medical mission. I could give that to my own people for free. Your mining would be garnishing multimillion dollars for mining compared to the salary of the poor miners in the Philippines. MINING FOR TECHNOLOGY. I dare your company to put up a multimillion dollar Medical Center in Nueva Vizcaya in exchange for mining. Don't make my own people damn.

  • DONT BLAME US ENGLISH PLZ . we love the phillippines in england .

  • This is a great example of propaganda. One sided. "Big Bad Mining Company" which negotiated and paid for the rights and permits to mine and poor "Little People" which are double dealing and trying to extort more money out of a legitimate company. Are there problems? Yes...with a corrupt government. All-in-all a masterfully unethical piece of "Journalism."

  • The Philippines needs to develop a mining programme to develop its metal wealth. 1. It should enter into planning agreements with the major mining companies covering issues such as labour, taxation and enviromental issues. 2. The country should develop a nationalised mining company that would act as a vehicle for mining excellence and investment. Develop a media policy to rebut absurd NGO objections.

  • Now how did they get a mining claim on a civilian populated area? Where did they get the mining claim? Surely those branch of the governement who has jurisdiction over this are in cahoots. What if theres a gold ore underneath malacanang? Can I apply for a mining claim and force the president out? See this is why this country is backwards people in power are corrupt.
