Two reels recorded by the fireplace at La Cour de Kerlarec, Brittany. I got the first one from piper John O'Brien, brother to the famous Mick, the second one, Garret Barry's is a Liam O'Flynn signature tune. At 1:38 my tenor drone seizes. No reverb added:-)

  • Very nice. Can you tell me if the music for that first reel is available?

  • @Kgilstrap1

Search thesession for Her Golden Hair Was Curling Down. The tune is obviously tagged as a hornpipe. Great fun to play reel-ish, though.

  • Sounds great, your pipes sound really nice who made them , love the drones. Post some some more I am learning to play and this stuff inspires me although I doubt I will ever get to this standard. cheers NNMAC

  • You can find the answer in the tags to this video:-) It's made by Andreas Rogge, Tübingen, Germany. Thanks for your kind comment and happy piping!

  • Pat, 'talent' makes it sound like a gift. He deserves credit for the endless hours of attentive critical listening to his playing and that of his masters, and the work that results in his music. Lovely playing.

  • Amazing playing! 5*

  • By the way, Who is the maker of that fine set of pipes?

  • Great playing! I liked the use of the regs there towards the end... good style

  • Wow, you're a very talented piper. Always wanted to learn to play but it's hard find a good teacher where I can from. Your style of playing is a lot like Ennis I find. Awesome.

  • Hello, let me tell you I adore that! I played whistle for several years and now I chose to pick uilleann pipes too (at least, when I get money), and this certainly sounds like inspiration, or level I´d like to reach some time.

By the way, it´s nice to meet fellow Overton player in means of whistles :-)

  • Wow! You have talent, my friend!
