Wide awake was written years before it was released. Thats why he released digital ash and wide awake at the same time. Reason being he didnt want to tour and play the same songs hes been playing for years already. =]

im pretty sure this is 2003, before one jug of wine, and im pretty sure alot of im wide awake was written before release, it would be very hard too write two albums of new music.
