  • Merci beaucoup !

  • There's a joke going around about this piece.. I'm not sure if I should tell...

  • Oh go on

  • I like it, but I feel that the forte passages should be attacked with the deep passion of loss. Thanks for sharing it.

  • I attacked it !

  • Ok, then. My grandfather told me this one:

There was this violinist playing "Åses død" (Death of Åse). And he really sucked at playing violin. So as he plays, someone in the audience gets up shouting: "Would you just relieve her of her suffering and KILL HER ALREADY?!"

  • Mysterious @ the beginning, yet amazing throughout the piece :)

  • omg, i started crying when i heard this song, it iss sooooo beautiful

  • my band teacher showed this to our class, and when it was over, someone shouted out, "it sounds like someone is crying" and my teacher said, "naturally, someone would cry. Ase just DIED."

  • questa esecuzione manca di intimità, è troppo fredda e troppo robusta.

  • :D I'm playing this song at festival with my school orchestra soon! I'm so excited :D

  • One of the most moving compositions I have ever heard. I would want this played at my funeral along with the Thomas Tallis Fantasia.

  • Can't pinpoint it...I think its a violin...but someone is "out" if you know what I mean and can hear it.

  • yaya full orchestra or piano.

  • I agree. I played Adagio for String (Samuel Barber) in a smaller orchestra, ans it was amazing. There was so little sound, but at other times, it seemed like we were all fighting for more sound, our passion taking over. But when I turned around and played it in a larger orchestra, the over intensity was amazing, but it wasn't the same. Not as delicate, but amazing in it's own.

I am torn in this case as well.

  • I'm torn... of course this was ment as a symphonic piece but I am strangely drawn to a minimalistic piano solo interpretation... Somehow the emanations of loneliness feel stronger with just a single instrument... not to say that this version didn't chill me to the bone. my deep respect!

  • it's really lovely and moving. thanks for sharing [:
