looked back at some of the videos i did and thought to myself "i know i can do better than that". so i figured out what my problem was... stagefright hahaha. so i recorded myself again, but this time i positioned myself in a way that i wasnt staring at the screen as i was recording. and i let myself go. still not great, but im so much more relaxed when i do it this way.

first is wonderful tonight
ukulele: lanikai spruce top tenor
strings: d'addario j71 with low G

then grow old with you
then one night stand
ukulele: ko'olau pono tenor mahogany
strings: d'addario j71

  • where did u get that low g string? is it d'addario? ive been lookin to find one for a low g on my concert.

  • nah, i took one of the old wound C strings that i had laying around (i hate those things for C strings). they make great low G strings.

  • is ur g string (haha) tuned an octave lower??

  • its tuned to low G. more bass options. i tuned it that way to practice "europa".

  • you could start a business selling pickguards of interesting designs! i'd by a custom one with my name burnt into it, would be a great way to customise your uke without paying $1000s

  • haha its a labor of love bro. if youre good with me, i would do it for free. to be honest, theyre not the greatest. i truly believe in the ten foot rule... "if it looks good from ten feet, then it looks good enough" hahaha.
