This traditional folk song may have originated in England or Scotland, but has been a favorite in Irish pubs since the 1800's. Here's a kick-in-the-pants version performed by one of our all time favorite Celtic rock bands, Fathom, featuring, featuring "Captain" John Farrell on electric mandolin. Recorded live at NYC's late, great Baggot Inn on the eve of St. Patrick's Day.
If you love Celtic music but also have a flair for the likes of Jethro Tull, Metallica and Iron Maiden, then you will surely become a fan of Fathom!
The band has performed with such mainstream artists such as Hot Tuna, Jason Bonham, and Tom Tom Club, folk legend Fairport Convention, as well as Celtic giants such as the Wolfe Tones, Black 47, The Prodigals, Eileen Ivers, The Makem Brothers and countless others.
