I created this video in my college advertising class. My professor's theory was that elements of popular culture experience a revival in popularity at thirty-year intervals. This popularity can be co-opted to sell products. The key is to stay about five years ahead of the wave, and so my clip combined a scene from a movie that was released about twenty-five years before I made it (Alien, 1979) and a song released about fifty-five years before (The Thing, 1950).
The Gap used a similar technique (albeit to a much less grisly effect) in this commercial: http://www.veoh.com/browse/videos/category/entertainment/watch/e112353ma8YfByb#
I had a lot of fun editing the video and music. Please note that I have no affiliation with FedEx Freight, but their services seemed to fit rather organically with the theme I chose.
I can honestly say I've never laughed as hard or as long as this in a long time. This is an HILARIOUS video, and I commend your thinking and editing skills sir. If you did not receive an "A" grade for this your teacher must be the most humorless man alive.
