Winter The Real Story

Winter has inspired many people with disabilities but those that are taking care of her are exploiting her and don't see that she is disabled. She is made to give 3 shows on a daily basis, Monday - Sunday.
Winter should be floating on her mat not performing day in and out. She should be pampered and not exploited, her trainers are oblivious to her real needs. Please Clearwater Marine Aquarium, do the right thing for Winter.
What is wrong here? Listen to the trainer in the 3:30pm show - its about the $100 dollar bill. This is not educating anyone, watch everyones faces and listen to what the video captured all around Winter.
THIS IS NOT ABOUT RELEASING HER BACK TO THE WILD ITS ABOUT PLACING HER IN A BETTER SITUATION.

What a Horror! This has to stop! Winter doesn't deserve this kind of treatment!!! She should be loved and cared for not a freak in a show!! It looks like another marine park for bucks!!!! She should be in a Sea pen or a place like Monterey Bay! Where they will take good care of her and give her lots of love!

Animals are not put on this planet to entertain. If you really care for these animals, stop the shows and exploitation of these wonderful animals. If humans caused an animal to be ill or injured, then yes help them but not at a cost of their right to exist away from the noise and attention. Allow the animals somewhere where they can be alone, when they want to NOT when the schedule allows. I too am disabled but I wouldn't stand being used like this.

If you knew anything about Winter you would know that she is playing hide n seek. The Dolphin's including Winter love to do shows and interact with the crowds and thier trainers. Humans are all they know and this is normal for them. I will repeat this again like others have before me. this is a NON PROFIT organization!!!!..Get your facts straight before you post a video like this trying to slander CMA. They are great and without them she and all other animals they care for would have died.

Have any of you actually BEEN to CMA??? Or know anything about it? First of all, they aren't reaping in the money like you all seem to think. They aren't the sole recipient of the profits from the movie, and they are a NON-PROFIT facility. They do have an expansion plan that is planned out, but that takes time! They are planning on building new pools for the dolphins, but that can't happen overnight and takes millions of dollars that the aquarium doesn't yet have despite what you may think.

You should learn how they really treat Winter. Why did you go in the first place if you don't support it ? They don't make any of the animals "perform" , thats what a circus is, go youtube that and see that horror show. Winter has an amazing story and is loved and cared for by her trainers. CMA is non profit, they run off donations, some rich guy did not buy them out. without people coming in their doors each day, all these animals would be dead. just think about that before pointing your finger

she would last a whole day out in the wild by herself. they do not breed at the aquarium like other facilities do, thats not their mission. THEY RESCUE- REHAB-RELEASE. she sits on that wall bc yes she might be bored. what does your dog do at home when its bored? lay around ? these dolphins do not need to be active 24-7 they get tired too. 80% of the time someone is playing with the dolphins including winter, interacting, feeding and giving her love. they don't just sit there.

I've been at CMA a lot and know first hand how they treat her. Winter, as far as we can see, is very happy there. She honestly loves the attention, and will come up and interact with people on the side of her pool. She vocalizes a lot, plays with Panama often, and there honestly is only a lot of people about 2 days out of the week. It's definitely more quiet during weekdays. CMA does the best they can with these dolphins, and it makes me sick that uneducated people post videos like this.

CMA is non-profit. They use the revenue gained from the movie and visitors solely to pay their employees and the care of their animals. Her "shows" are actually extremely valuable to her. She doesn't do tricks. She's interacting with her trainers, which is a form of enrichment. She would be extremely bored otherwise. Captive dolphins need stimulation for their brains and bodies, and that's what these training sessions do. If you want to see tricks and exploitation, go after SeaWorld, not CMA.
