Sending them to stay with teenagers who live an extreme life as opposed to their own backward one, talking of stabbings and murders and rapes, is only going to confirm to these brainwashed amish teens that the amish way is the best way.

They would have done better to have been sent to more moderate circumstances so as to show them there is something between the two extremes.

There's NOTHING extreme about the teens these Amish kids met with. It was a rather mild actually. Amish teens are not brainwashed- They were brought up with love, values and rules which puts them a million miles ahead of the average teens these days.

@capgurken Don't pretend America was ever much like this. Maybe in rural areas, but in the city where most people have lived it's always been dog eat dog. You can't hide away on your farm and pretend there isn't a world out there or a better way of doing things. I'll take the gritty streets and the ability to do what I want over a stupidly simplistic life where everything is already mapped out for you.

This is the OLDTIME America that my generation lived in. But it got ruined by u stupid kids with ur MTV, and Ipods and rock & roll and hot sex. Stupid kids y don;t u go back into mommy's womb?

and to be honest when you compare this two lifestyles the amish way of life looks rather nice
