even though I know it is not possible, I kinda wished that Carol and Doug (Julianna Margulies & George Clooney) could have found out that it was Carter that got the kidney from their patient.

Benton's voice sounds so much more mature and older than the earlier seasons! Kind of sad to realise that many of the cast were on ER 15 years!

All the ER scenes here are Season 15.
Carter needs a kidney transplant because he is in renal failure (one kidney stopped functioning after he was stabbed in season 6, and for the other he got an infection while working in Africa).

It wasn't shown on screen. He just explained what happened to him to Dr Banfield during the episode 15.17. You can check the video "The kidney joke" on my channel...
