Shrouded in myth and protected by the ancient secrets of their ancestors, the African Traditional Healer (Sangoma) has always been a controversial subject in South African society, where the modern meets the ancient and where AIDS is feared by all. Little is known about the healing powers they possess, their cunning knowledge of illness and disease and the rituals an initiate has to undergo. We go to the Northern Province of South Africa to follow an Ithwasane( initiate) as she undergoes the process of becoming a fully fledged African Traditional Healer.

  • Estos africanos consultando con fichas de domino. Si sale la cochina tas cojidooooooo.

  • Its funny how people see this as stupid , call it what you want but the meat you buy at the butcher , an animal had to be killed so people who talk like this are so stupid themselves. If you don't understand something, don't comment.

  • @FirstEmily1973 OMG! I so agree with you!! Who cares what kind of stupidity those idiots choose to partake in, but when they star hurting animals or children, they should be repeatedly subjected to whatever cruelties they are inflicting upon their innocent, defenseless victims!!

  • it's 2010. WTF? Maybe her is more to this than we know?

  • That is mad. I am from Africa ,but I do not believe that sleeping with goats, cutting a goats throat or talking to a goats ear is normal. How can they cure mental disturbance when what they are doing is even ten times more mentally disturbing.

I chose to join James Walukaga on facebook instead because there is no bloody killing in his practices.

  • At least they should someone with a better knife kill the poor animal faster. Cruelty like that isn´t nice, not in Europe, not in Africa. Harming animals shows a bad character; doesn´t matter where you from or what culture you´re living in.

  • Jambo

  • This is very interesting
