This will never be a first lesson for using VOR navigation. Thanks anyway.

i was doing partial panel ( night in a R44) using the mag compass and the VOR indicator to track and hold, what a pain! the HSI is a sexy creation!

@totallyairplanecrazy There's even more vintage, NDBs! Yet we still mainly use VORs for navigation even today, many small general aviation planes have no GPSs!

Thank you for your video! I'm just starting out in VOR Navigation in MS FSX, my question is how do I accurately set the OBS? Say I want to track the 243 radial out of the Danville VOR (DNV) on VOR1. Its seems easy to dial in the 240 or 250 radial, but the 243 is kinda tough. Does the VOR OBS dial (on a Cessna 172 SP with standard MSFSX dash) select in 1 degree increments? I've seen software dashboard add-ons that place a little digital OBS readout above the VOR but I don't want to use these.

@frank2398 Normally a click is one degree yes. If you are one or two degrees too far it's no big deal, you just want to "approximately" be on course.

How do I know which course I have to turn in with the OBS?

@doubleBdasher You get that from the chart.
