  • I go to BW and we're playing this piece january 31st!!! I'm glad I found this. It sounds absolutely amazing!

  • Really great performance of one of my favorite composers. I'm sad I missed this performance live, I just graduated from Baldwin-Wallace in May, so I could have gone to see this if I'd known about it! At least I found the video.

Really moving performance, absolutely fantastic video too.

  • I'm not surprised it took him a long time to put it together. He's got 7 parts to pre-record plus the live part. And put the video together. I wonder whether the cellist can choose which part he/she plays live?

Great music, performance. And great posting.

  • I am amazed at the professional skill and artistry of this performance. I was told about it by Ted Rankin when both he and I were visitors at Tassajara Zen Mountain Retreat. I thought he was a student but this performance is by a real pro. I am stunned.

  • And I was there. It was amazing. He spent SO much time putting this piece together.

  • I dislike comparisons between artists. They're usually unfair to one or the other. What I will say is that Mr Rankin-Parker has a profound understanding of this work and his interpretation is simply stunning. And, as with any exciting presentation by a young up and comer, he makes an audience crazy with hopes and expectations for what the future may bring. Where might his muse guide him next? Regardless, this performance puts the world on notice: you'll want to say one day, I was there when. .

  • This kid is better than Yo Yo Ma!
