The speech of Ian Gillan telling goodbye to his japanese fans on 1973-06-29. A very sad day, the end of a fantastic period for the band. Deep Purple will never be the same after.

I love Ian Gillan! THE BEST! Deep Purple forever!

why did you post this? I was having a good day until I watched this video.

When talking about his solo career (the Gillan years 1979-82), Ian said that that's the sort of music he would have liked to do with Purple if he hadn't have left in '73.
-
But he will be back!!!
-
one speech that brought so much sadness to millions of people!

it is very sad just thinking of Gillan leaving deep purple!

Gold man with Gold voice! Long Live Ian!

Deep Purple's glory days were over after this speach. It was truly the end. Coverdale Hughes & co with their funk and soul and drugs ruined Deep Purple afterwards. The reunion in 1984 was good, and so was the JLT and Morse eras afterwards, but nothing can compare to 1969-73 MK.II. Nothing!!!
