My first short ride on Camino

Just some footage of the first time I saddled and rode my new purebred arabian mare, AK Camino. Camino had not been ridden in over three years, could even be four years. I just got on her and rode around for about ten minutes or so inside the barn for the first time. Kudos to the person who broke her in and did her initial training because I doubt she's forgotten anything.

beautiful horse but that saddle can be dangerous for his back!! it is not the good size for his withers!

it is really important to have a saddle that is adapted to your horse's back. If you don't, your horse can have serious back problems in the future

@Udonjo I had actually borrowed my husbands saddle for the very first time I rode her. The saddle I have for her is narrower in the gullet. For just the bit of walking around I did that day on her, it wasn't a problem. I am quite aware of what a badly fitting saddle can do, and I am glad that others out there pay attention to notice things. All the best. Cath.

the arab x i ride hates the girth he walks off on me or he trys to bite me but camino just stands there not bothered

No, she never is. She was very sweet since it was the first time she'd even seen a saddle in nearly four years.

Wow..she is a beauty and sure knows her stuff!! I might be getting a purebred all black 6 yr old arabian myself! I am only 12 so i have to try him. But She knows her stuff!! And what a beautiful name..

Why has it been 4 years since she has seen a saddle? That can create a major training gap!

@WildHorses159 My arab x loves the saddle...mayeb it was from previous times of being cinched that now he doesn't like it...maybe..just thought that if you bought him it could have been from a previous owner.:-)

@Shiniane It is great in deed that there are people that pay attention to saddle fitting! I live in Belgium and most people here just buy any saddle and after 2 weeks the horse becomes dangerous and they ask me why .. Duh ^^
