During the afternoon we see Eurostars at Beckenham Junction, Kent House and Brixton. The last passenger services to depart Waterloo were the 18:09 Paris and the 18:12 Brussles which was named "Waterloo Sunset" are seen at Vauxhall. The group of men taking photographs at Vauxhall were involved in the construction of Waterloo International. And that was it, the end of a short and interesting railway era. As the last passengers passed through Waterloo, security equipment was being dismantled for reuse at the new Ebbesfleet International. Overnight, operations moved to St Pancras and the first train departed just after 11am. Waterloo International is now mothballed. The Eurostar trains quickly had their third rail equipment removed.

  • Was they actually playing that when you was in there? Or did u add it as special effects?

Coz the way the sound didn't break when u change scenes is awesome!

  • The music was playing on loud speakers. I ran the camera purely to record enough sound then assemble the clips of vision to fit the same length. If you look at my other Eurostar film at Brixton I do the same thing. The music was playing at a market stall then I put clips to it.

  • What is that song called when it is in waterloo?

    Can't say goodby or something.

  • It's called "Time To Say Goodbye" by Sarah Brightman and Andrea Bocelli

  • To echo comments that have already been made, this is an excellent video, as are all of yours. Thank you for taking the time to put it together. Even though I live in Texas, I've had the pleasure of being a passenger on Eurostar four times over the years, and have fond memories of each trip. I look forward to experiencing St. Pancras and the new high speed line in the future.

  • Terrific video. Thanks for taking the trouble to make it. I still can't believe that these sights are now firmly consigned to the history books.

  • Yes, thanks traindriver for your videos, I enjoy.

  • I travelled on a Eurostar in June 1994. My dad told me it was packed to the doors with people heading for Europe. Also in 1999, I remeber racing a Eurostar out of Waterloo on a Southwest Trains class 421. Really Emotional ending to a short era of Britains Railways! 5*****

  • Great Video, Do Beckenham Junction, Kent House and Brixton Stations have Ticket Barriers?

  • Lol im 3 of the 89 million travelers :)

  • I was talking about train paths on the commuter lines.

Shame about the Waterloo platforms though....

  • there not going to use it

it was in the newspaper there just gonna leave it

  • I bet Southeastern and South West Trains can run more commuter services now! No more Eurostars clogging up the line....

And what is wrong with the track at Vauxhall - the train bounces!

  • great video, i love eurostars, 5*, and fav
