The rise in concentration of greenhouse gases in the Earth's atmosphere, and especially in that of CO2 of anthropogenic origin, is intensifying the greenhouse effect.

A number of industrialised countries are adopting measures, such as the carbon capture and geological storage.

The project of the Fundación Ciudad de la Energía with its two Technical Development Plants (TDP) will help Spain to become one of the countries in Europe at the forefront of capture and geological storage of CO2.
