  • I would choose Eowyn everyday. For the longest time during my school years I thought the actress who played her was the most beautiful woman in the world

  • EOWYN. :D

  • @mirainsweden2 If she had been a man she would have gone to war like everyone else. It was because she was a woman, and the king's *niece*, that she was ordered to stay behind. In an attempt to protect her, the king had ordered so. Besides, she did not *accept it*, anyway. As for her ability to lead, she has proven lots of times that she is a natural leader.

Sometimes, seeing behind appearances is required in order to understand why someone acts in a specific way.

  • @mirainsweden2 Let me clarify. Her riding to war and slaying the witchking was brave. Her taking reponisibilty for her action would be braver. The men won't allow her to fight so she disguised herself was brave. abandoning her charge without a leader or a warning was not. If your country was at war tomorrow, you would not be happy to know that your president abandoned you for the sake of himself or another country. If you can't do your job, then quit. But let people know. dont pretend you accept

  • @Theodoreroum But she wasn't FORCED to accept charge of her people. she was chosen and ACCEPTED it. She could have said: "I am not fit to lead, pick someone else." Its like the whole cruise in italy thing, She was appointed captain (unwillingly) but instead of chosing someone in charge, she left the ship and the people on it without telling them or putting someone in charge. If Eowyn had been a MAN and not the king's sister, she would have been punished.

  • No comparison. Both are Great!

  • @mirainsweden2 It is hardly selfish to go in disguise and fight for what you believe, waiting to die in the attempt. What could She have done by staying behind when the armies of Mordor would go to a defenceless Edoras after destroying Gondor?

One needs courage to do what she thinks is right against the wishes of others.

She did not flee for her safety(Selfish), she stood up for what she believed was right,

  • Arwen moves like Jager ;)

  • Eowyn ftw

Arwen was a total bore and came off as a borderline Mary Sue at times

  • I think Eowyn was a deserter. She was given a responsibility by her king, yet abandoned her people for glory. I understand her wanting to fight, but she could have refused or apointed someone else in charge. I can't help but to think what her people must have felt to wake up and realise that the person in charge had abandoned them to their own device. Eowyn sure slay the witchking but she didn't know she was going to when she rode out. that was selfish
