Accident Inexperience gets two of the riders in our group. The first part of the clip is at full speed, I will comment on the slow-mo version starting at :39 The two bike in front of me will make a series of errors that cause them to lose concentration and forget what they have learned I will call the first rider "Red" the second "yellow" If you look closely within the first frames of the vid the cruser bike in front of "Red" is breaking in the corner and "Red" bike comes up faster then he expected and "Red" hits his front break and then starts to stand up the bike and head for the corner, when his foot left the peg it was all over (IMHO there was no control from that point forward) so first mistake was to close the the cruiser, second hit the front break and drop your foot. Once he came into the soft side dirt, the front literately dug in and tossed him forward off the bike the second biker "Yello" looks directly at "red" and goes "o-$hit" and "target fixes" hits his front break and straitens up like a rabbit and goes for the sand almost a duplicate of red with the leg off the peg. (IMHO yellow could have recovered by letting go of the break and continuing his corner) I was hitting my horn warning the other riders behind me, so they don't run anyone over, I drove through the corner slowing (a little freaked out also) you can hear my wife screaming "turn around" "turn around" she was off the bike and running to help before I could get my wits.
The aftermath "Red" broke his collar bone and will be fine in a few months and his bike while scraped, plastic damaged and will need new pegs will run again "Yellow" Sperated(dislocated) his shoulder and will be fine shortly and his bike was scraped but rideable after the fall We got them sent to the hospital and bikes towed to the bike shop safely
My own critique of my riding performance is positive. I slightly target fixed on them as they went off the road, I did not panic, I found a new line out of danger, I dodged yellow as he hit the pavement and un-"target fixed" the truck in the other lane to come to a safe stop, I should have turned the bike around and drove back instead of getting off and running over, it would have been faster.
