Vanessa Stewart is a beautiful American woman engaged to be married. Vanessa is an artist and is also a buyer for her father's company. She goes to Venice on a business trip and meets television reporter Bill Fitzgerald from Ireland. They fall madly in love in the four days they are in Venice. Vanessa realizes, because of him that she would rather be an artist than a business person. She comes back to the States, and he invites her to meet in Ireland. There she meets his mother and daughter. Vanessa comes back to the U.S. and breaks her engagement. Bill and Vanessa are supposed to meet again in Venice. Bill is on assignment in a war zone and is kidnaped by looters. There is a ransom to be paid, but nobody shows up to get the ransom money...

So puritan, so american! Business and no pleasure. He's a charming, sexy Irishman, no one could say no other than uptight, control freaks. No heart or soul. Who needs sleep in one of the most beautiful and romantic cities on Earth. American mentality is to be pitied. I understand every word he says and I'm not Irish or British.

she is beautiful but what an awful sack dress does nil for her figure. She looks around 40 but beautiful anyway.

What is it with that white sack like dress. This character has a better eye for objects and Venice has one of the most beautiful shopping in the world but certainly does not have an eye for fashion. That dress should be buried in a box down the Grand Canal better yet burnt.
