if you follow the hacking spirit who make pure data, you'll find some better way to comunicate with every software of your computer. OSC language man, you can connect everything. max the same, of course, but someone has allready made it for you, and it's not a good pedagogic way. Pure data is the same in pedagogic version. its really not a fight. max and pure data has the same root, but one is more open than the other.
